COLING-2010 General Policies on Workshops
These guidelines apply to all COLING2010 workshop
accepted by the COLING2010 workshop committee. In principle, no
direct financial support to the workshop organizers. The term
“benefit” below thus should be interpreted as combining formal
sponsorship and financial assistance. The “benefit” is designed
to attract more attendances.

COLING organizing committee will be in
charge of the financial management and is responsible for all
organizational cost, including venue, coffee break, and
proceedings. Workshop organizers do not need to bear any
financial responsibilities for these essential operations of the
workshop.

The number of one workshop organizers
should be no more than three.
3.
(1) If the number of registered
participants to a workshop is less than 20, the workshop will be
cancelled.
(2) If the number of registered participants to a workshop is
more than 20 but less than 60 (say small size), one organizer
receives free registration for the workshop.
(3) If the number of registered participates is equal to or more
than 60 but less than 100 (say middle size), two organizers and
one invited speaker (if necessary) receive free registration for
the workshop.
(4) If the number of registered participates is equal to or more
than 100 (say large size), all workshop organizers and two
invited speakers (if necessary) are free registration for the
workshop.

COLING-2010 organization committee will
consider needy participants (from students or for scholar from
underdeveloped countries). For a small size workshop, one needy
participant receives free registration for the workshop. For the
middle size workshop, two needy participants receive free
registration for the workshop. And for a large size workshop,
three needy participants receive free registration for the
workshop.

Any other affairs which are not specified above would be settled
with discussion between COLING-2010 organization committee and
workshop organizers.
